ACUPUNCTURE
WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?
Acupuncture is an ancient healing technique believed to have been developed in China several thousand years ago. The practice is based on the idea that physical and mental ailments are the result of imbalances of energy in the body. This energy, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, is called Qi (pronounced “chee”). When the body is functioning correctly, the Qi will flow through certain channels in unhindered. If these channels become congested, this is when disorders or diseases occur. Learn more about acupuncture and how it could be a solution for you today.
HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?
Acupuncture uses ultra-thin needles inserted into specific points on the body where energy may be blocked.
Since disruption of the energy flow can cause disease, the goal of acupuncture is to unblock these channels to allow energy to flow freely and restore balance to the mind and body.
Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. By inserting needles, chemicals are released into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain, and these biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities.
